Experience

Lead Developer, Anolis

February 2008 – present.

Developed HTML document post-processor, automatically adding items such as a table of contents and cross-references.
Reverse-engineered, and implemented compatible subset of the behaviour of the W3C CSS WG's CSS3 Module Postprocessor, through inspection of existing W3C documents and purpose-written test cases.
Shipped a 1.0 release that met not only the requirements I personally had, but also those of the editor of HTML 5.

Editor, Tolerant HTTP Parsing

August 2007 – present.

Author of a specification that defines how to parse HTTP requests/responses in a way compatible with pre-existing implementations.
Had to find common ground in very varied implementations, and determine suitable choices where there was none.

March 2007 – present.

Contributor, WHATWG

November 2006 – present.

Contribute opinions on a diversity of subjects, especially those which I am involved in implementations of.
Help with implementation of parts of the specification, especially html5lib, but also in smaller parts in Anolis and SimplePie.
Author of a number of automatable test cases for parts of the specification.

Lead Developer, SimplePie

July 2005 – January 2008, and intermittently since.

Lead development of the PHP feed parsing library from after the 0.96 release until 1.1.
Pushed towards a better performing and standards compliant code-base, while maintaining a commitment for compatibility with real-world feeds.
Created a product able to unroot the well-established leader of PHP feed parsing.
Contracted by Foleeo, Inc. for two weeks in August 2007 to re-engineer the built-in caching mechanism to make it more extensible, and to add support for caching in database.
Involved primarily in a project-steering role after leaving development, but also involved in a lesser development role in later 1.1 releases.
